Social housing for the elderly update – August 23rd 2025
The construction of the 10 units social housing development for the elderly, at the former
creamery site continues to progress. Currently, electricity and sewer connection together with
repairs to the chimney stack is ongoing.
In early July, Limerick City & Co. Co. informed Cappamore Housing Association that approved
costs of the social housing project is been 100% funded by the Department of Housing under
the Capital Assistance Scheme. Limerick City & Co. Co. will have 100% tenant allocation rights.
We encourage all prospective tenants, people over 55 years of age and with a housing need in
the community, to register their application on the Limerick City & Co. Co. housing list, indicating
their preferred location as Cappamore.
